Pay with $ORBT
Any Orbital plan can be paid in $ORBT instead of a card, at 20% off the list price. The tokens are not collected into a treasury. They are burned inside the payment transaction, and your Discord access is granted from the same on-chain event.
What it costs
| Plan | Card price | In $ORBT | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic monthly | $23 | $18.40 | $4.60 |
| Medium monthly | $37 | $29.60 | $7.40 |
| Premium monthly | $57 | $45.60 | $11.40 |
| Basic annual | $200 | $160.00 | $40 |
| Medium annual | $370 | $296.00 | $74 |
| Premium annual | $500 | $400.00 | $100 |
The discount is 20% on every tier and both billing periods. Prices are fixed in dollars, so the number of $ORBT you send is worked out from the live token price at the moment you pay โ if the token moves, the dollar cost of your plan does not.
How to subscribe
- Run
/subscribein Discord. The bot replies with a private link that is yours alone. It expires in 5 minutes. - Open the link and connect your wallet on Robinhood Chain.
- Pick a plan and a period. The page quotes you an exact amount of $ORBT.
- Approve and pay. Two transactions: an approval for exactly that amount, then the payment.
- Your role is granted automatically once the payment is seen on chain. Check any time with
/mysub.
/subscribe is open to everyone in the server. You do not need an existing subscription to use it.
Why the quote expires
The amount of $ORBT you owe is derived from a live price, so it is issued as a signed quote that lives 60 seconds. If you take longer than that, the page simply fetches a fresh one โ there is nothing to do but pay again.
That short life is deliberate. A quote that stayed valid for an hour would let someone hold it through a price move and pay at a stale rate, which is a discount nobody agreed to. Sixty seconds is long enough to approve and confirm, and short enough that the price behind it is still the real one.
What happens to the tokens
Nothing is kept. The payment contract calls burnFrom on your approval, which means:
- the tokens are destroyed in the same transaction that pays for your plan;
- they never sit in an Orbital wallet, not even for one block;
totalSupplyfalls by exactly what you paid.
Every one of those burns is public and listed with its transaction on the burns page.
Renewals and expiry
Paying again extends from your current expiry, not from the day you pay, so renewing early never costs you days. If your subscription has already lapsed, the new period starts from the moment the payment lands.
Lifetime NFT holders keep their access regardless โ the expiry sweep never touches an NFT holder, and if the holder check cannot be completed for any reason it fails closed and leaves access in place rather than stripping it.
If something goes wrong
| Link expired | Run /subscribe again, it costs nothing |
| Quote expired at the payment step | The page re-quotes on its own; press pay again |
| Paid but no role after a few minutes | Run /mysub first, then open a ticket with your transaction hash |
A payment that landed on chain is never lost. The watcher reconciles from the chain itself, so a role that was missed is granted on the next pass.
